World Cup Pool
Be sure to check the Pool News page on any Tourneys Pool for details with regards to:
- Entry Fee
- Scoring Method
- Payouts
There may be variations from what is listed below!
All the pools require a Budmans.Com Account for any entry. One may make
several entries in any pool (even for others).
Anyone can create their own Budmans.Com Account. (There's a
User Accounts tab on Budmans.com home
page with link to create a new account: Create
User Account). The User Accounts section also allows one
to make address and email changes as they occur. It is up to each user to
maintain his own Budmans.Com Account.
One also has to be authorized to participate in these pools by Bud. This can be
done by sending me an email at
stowe@budmans.com. In order to allow participation, I need to be assured you
are someone I know, or know someone I know (after all, at some point, monetary
settlement needs to be made). You can also reach me by phone,
text, or voice-mail at 515-975-2284.
For all Pools, the only time one needs to login is when one make picks or when
you want to check an account balance. Login is initiated
when one clicks on the "Logon" button (if not already
logged on).
When you are logged on, you will see a list of all entries made with your account until the first game has started.
After that, entries using your account will be high-brighted in listings.
For making any new entry, a unique Identification is required. This is just a made-up name to distinguish this entry from others. It does NOT represent the identify of the person making the entry.
The actual name and location is used to properly identify the person who is making this entry.
Please set the real name correctly to give proper credit. It can be modified later by accessing any entry made with your account from listings.
Entries can easily be viewed, printed, or modified anytime up to the entry deadline simply by
selecting from the Tourney page.
I can not control forfeitures that may occur. Results abide by whatever rules the tourney applies.
I have friendly easy payment plans. Pay as you go or settle up at the end.
I can pay or be paid from PayPal (via stowe@budmans.com or 515-975-2284).
Be sure to pick the Personal tab from the Send Money option otherwise a
fee will be charged. Many other ways to settle are listed here. From any Pool page there is a Check Balance link that can be used
to view fees, transactions, and winnings across all pools
easily.
Your Logon can be "remembered" across sessions by checking the Remember Logon
box. There is a Logoff link on Pool pages as well. It is your Budmans.Com Account username and password that
you use to Logon with. This login is same one used across Football Pools and Fantasy Golf League.
If you have forgotten your Budmans.Com Account password, or (horrors) your username, you can go to the
User Accounts tab on Budmans.com home
page. There are links there to allow you to identify your username, or reset your password. If worse comes
to worse, contact Bud via email or phone.
Rules specific to the NCAA Basketball Pool:
The main NCAA basketball pool contains 64 teams in single elimination.
There are 4 play-in games. You get the winner of the play-in game if you make this pick.
The pool will be altered to reflect the name of the winning play-in team.
The scoring is based on seed of the team times the round value for each pick correct. Thus if you pick a lower seed team to win, you will score more if correct. Of course, theoretically, you'll have less chance to win that game. Your call.
Round value times seed number of team.
Round 1 = 1
Round 2 = 3
Round 3 = 6
Round 4 = 10
Round 5 = 16
Round 6 = 26
Ties are broken by 1> Picking the Champion and 2> Having the most correct picks.
The main NCAA pool costs $20.
Payouts are:
1 - 30%
2 - 20%
3 - 14%
4 - 10%
5 - 8%
